What Is Arkham?

Arkham is a blockchain analytics platform that identifies the real-world entities behind cryptocurrency transactions. While blockchain transactions are publicly visible, the wallet addresses involved are just strings of letters and numbers — you can see that money moved, but not who moved it. Arkham uses an AI engine called "Ultra" to link these anonymous addresses to known people, companies, and organisations.

Think of Arkham as a detective agency for the blockchain. It watches the flow of money across crypto networks and figures out who the wallets belong to.

The Problem It Solves

Blockchain transparency is incomplete. Anyone can see every transaction on Ethereum or Bitcoin, but without knowing who controls which wallet, this transparency has limited practical value. Investors want to know when major funds are moving money. Researchers want to track illicit flows. Regulators need to understand market behaviour. Without entity attribution, blockchain data is just noise.

How It Works

Arkham's Ultra engine aggregates data from multiple sources — on-chain transaction patterns, public filings, social media, exchange data, and other signals — to build a database mapping wallet addresses to real-world entities. Users can search for any address and see who it likely belongs to, what other wallets they control, and how their assets are moving.

Arkham also operates the Intel Exchange — a marketplace where users can buy and sell blockchain intelligence. Someone who identifies the wallet of a major fund can sell that attribution to others who find it valuable. ARKM tokens are used for transactions on this marketplace.

Why It Matters

Arkham fills a critical gap in the crypto ecosystem by making blockchain data actionable. While The Graph indexes and organises on-chain data for developers, Arkham focuses on the human intelligence layer — connecting technical blockchain data to the real-world entities behind it. This kind of attribution is increasingly important as cryptocurrency becomes more integrated with traditional finance and regulation.
